Working on the Railroad
A benefit of a club is learning skills
Sharing and learning from others with a variety of different skill sets is one of the benefits of belonging to a model railroad club.  Along the way you will develop many lifelong friendships with others that share your same interest.

We hold numerous clinics throughout the year, taught by either a club member or by other talented railroaders from the area. We also have work sessions, where members have an opportunity to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty as they work side by side and learn from other members.  We also have informal "apprenticeships" where you can work on a committee on a longer term basis under the wing of a more seasoned member.

Scott Kurzawski working the Dispatcher's job during an Open House

Scott also wrote the custom software program that creates the dispatcher display that
is seen on the screens, which interfaces with the C/MRI interface to the layout, that
allows the dispatcher to see occupied track on the layout, and remotely operate turnouts.
It also controls the signals on the layout, with both CTC and ABS control
